It only occurred to me yesterday that I forgot a very important link (to me, anyway), which is my photo website, which for now displays mostly editorial photos. I don’t update it very often, but if you want to check it out, go to christineprichard.com. It should be back online later today (my domain name registration had expired).
Also, the communication issue between my workers has been smoothed out and work is about to get hot and heavy on my condemned house in the historic district. I’ll take some before photos tomorrow. Work on the roof, footings and some wall demolition should all be going well by this week.
Soon, we’ll even get some water and electric running there! The house is so great; built in 1912 and has 12′ ceilings, four (nonworking) fireplaces, picture moulding at 9′ in all of the rooms, beautiful moulding around the doors, great front porch.
I’m pretty sure Mike would be proud. I can’t help but constantly think about how much he taught me (and I taught him) about this business. Thank goodness we bounced our ideas off of each other a lot and that I recall so many of our brainstorms and his trials, tribulations and successes as a contractor. And that he had such good rapport with our subs and that he found such good people to work with. I think they really respected him and that is helping me immensely.
Chris,
I’m so proud of you! I hope my unexpected morning visit last month wasn’t too abrupt or any advice I gave was insensitive. This is obviously nearly overwhelming for you. I care deeply about you and the kids and want you to fight the feeling of being overwhelmed and to keep on being positive and living strong and for yourself and the kids and as a tribute to Mike. While also letting the tears fall as often as they must. I miss Mike and this blog of yours has helped me to remember him better. It’s also shown me that you are sooo strong and and I am inspired by you. Wish I was there to do more to help. What a wonderful photo of you all. Thanks so much for sharing!
Much love from Tripoli and hope to see you all in the spring,
Sami
Hi Chris! Hope you had a Merry Christmas, hope you have a Happy New Year. You are amazing chic. Have fun with the kids. They will help you get through hard times, even though they are little yet. Miss you much! Take care! Love you all! Shannon
